ADSL Internet & Private Links. Together with our ISP, On The Net, we have developed several Remote CCTV Systems that make use of Video and PTZ Camera Control via ADSL. For Smaller Systems (e.g. Small Shops) we use a combination of the latest Netcomm ADSL Router and a Pacom 4-Input DVR. This can be logged into via Internet with most recent model PC’s (that have access to Broadband) with SmartBase Remote Administration Software (included with each Pacom DVR) installed on them. For Larger Systems (e.g. Council Precincts) we use Cisco or Netcomm ADSL Routers together with a Pacom 16-Input DVR for Recording and a DVTEL Video Ethernet Encoder/Decoder Set to create a Video Stream. For enhanced speed and security on these systems we recommend using ADSL Private Links.

Fibre Optics. Our firm designs and installs Fibre Optic Cabling Systems for both Ethernet and Video Applications. After using different brands over a period of several years we have come to the conclusion that the Fibre Equipment manufactured by GE Security (formerly Fiber Options) is both the best value for money and the most reliable. This equipment is imported by our supplier Pacific Communications. Fibre Optic Cabling installed by our firm is terminated and tested by Optical Fibre Systems.

Network Security. In order to reduce possible security threats created by connecting our clients Ethernet Networks to the Internet we now offer the option of installing Security Hardware to installations where Internet connectivity is required. Currently we use Fortinet, which has very effective Anti-Virus, Anti-Spam, Content Filtering, Firewall, and Intrusion Prevention functions. In addition to this it also has a VPN (Virtual Private Network) function which we find useful for creating Networks via the Internet between different locations and also for making adjustments to clients systems remotely from our headquarters.
